The Shew of Stock, and in particular the Cows and Queys, was uncommonly fine; and the Judges mentioned, that they had much pleasure in acknowledging the extreme difficulty they had felt, in ascertaining their comparative merits, where all the animals were of a superior description, and the shades of difference in many cases so slight.  Among the different prizes, one animal, viz. the first Quey, reared by Mr Ferguson of Pitfour, attracted universal attention - she is of the pure Aberdeenshire horned breed, and for size, symmetry, and condition, cannot be easily matched.

After the business of the day was over, a large party sat down to a comfortable dinner, provided by Mr Cowie, Ellon, - Lord Saltoun in the Chair, and Mr Gordon of Hallhead, Croupier; and, as might have been expected, the evening was spent with the greatest hilarity.  Several new Members were enrolled in the course of the day.

Sudden death of Alexander Michie

SUDDEN DEATH. - On Sunday the 21st inst. during the afternoon service, in the Parish of Old Deer, ALEXANDER MICHIE, an old labouring man belonging to Kinmundy, dropped suddenly down in presence of the congregation, and appeared to be quite overcome by the heat of the church, and the pressureof the crowd.  He was immediately carried out, that he might receive the benefit of the air, which, it was hoped, would soon revive him.  After a short time, he was enabled to proceed on his way home, accompanied by two of his neighbours; but no sooner had he reached the Parsonage belonging to the English Episcopal Chapel at Old Deer, about half a mile, than he was seized more violently, and was obliged to be conveyed into the house of the Rev. Mr Lawson.  Medical assistance was immediately procured, but with no effect: he only survived an hour, and then breathed his last!  The disease which thus terminated his existence, was found to be apoplexy.  In the morning of the same day, he had partaken of the solemn ordinance of the Lord's Supper; and from the general tenor of his life and conversation, it is humbly hoped, before the conclusion of the Sabbath, which proved his last on earth, he entered on an eternal Sabbath above, and sat down at that higher table, where the cloth is never withdrawn, the entertainment never ends, and the guests no more go out.

Reward for detention of Helen Sutherland

CHILD EXPOSED.

WHEREAS a FEMALE CHILD, apparently about six weeks old, was found exposed at Hilton, in the parish of Old Machar, on the morning of Friday the 19th ult, and that there is the strongest reason to suspect, that the said Child belongs to a Woman calling herself HELEN SUTHERLAND, who was discharged from Bridewell, with her Female Child, on the preceding day,

A REWARD OF FIVE GUINEAS

Is hereby offered, to any person who will apprehend and detain the said Helen Sutherland, or give such information respecting her, to Hugh Fullerton, Procurator Fiscal of the County of Aberdeen, as may be the means of seuring and bringing her to justice.

The said Woman is of middle stature; has brown hair, and a red spot or growth upon her right eye-lid; - Had on a coarse blue gown, when she left Bridewell.  She was sent to Bridewell from Old Deer, by a sentence of the Justices; and being a vagrant, it is probable she assumes different names, according as it suits her convenience.
