COAST-SIDE FARM TO BE LET,

And entered to immediately.

There is to be Let, and entered to at Whitsunday next, for such term of years as can be agreed upon,

THE FARM of STONEWALL of PROTSTOWN, as lately occupied by James Murray, on a Life-rent Lease, situated in the Parish Gamerie, and County of Banff, and upon the coast of the Moray Firth.

The Farm contains 75 Acres of Land, of a superior quality, all in a high state of cultivation.  It is in the immediate vicinity of the thriving Sea-port of Gardenstown, and within nine miles of Banff.  Every suitable encouragement will be given to a tenant of character, unexceptionably recommended as such.

The Ground will be shewn, and particulars learned, on application at Troup House, where offers will be received, on or before Saturday 22d curt.

Circuit court cases

Yesterday, the Circuit Court of Justiciary was opened here, by the Right Hon. Lords Hermand and Gilles, and proceeded to the trial of James Ritchie, from the Parish of Gamrie, accused of stealing 30 sheep from the Parks of Gordon Castle; he was unanimously found guilty by the jury, who also, with one dissenting voice, recommended him to mercy, on account of his youth, being only 17 years of age.  He was sentenced to be hanged at Aberdeen, on Friday the 5th of June.

James Ritchie, lately Cattle Dealer at Tillymair, Parish of Tough, accused of falsehood, fraud, and wilful imposition, by uttering two bills with false and fictitious subscriptions, was unanimously found guilty, and sentenced to one year's imprisonment.

John Grant, lately Blacksmith at Muiresk, Parish of Turriff; William Grant, lately Blacksmith there; and James Daun, at Hillockhead of Glass, accused of different acts of assault.  John Grant, having broke out of prison, failed to appear.  William Grant pled guilty, to one act of assault; James Daun pled not guilty.  The diet was deserted against James Daun, pro loco et tempore; the other charges against William Grant being also passed from, and in consideration of previous long confinement, he was sentenced to be imprisoned for three months.

Jean Mathieson, lately residing in Aberdeen, accused of child-murder and concealment of pregnancy, pled guilty to concealment of pregnancy, but denied the murder, which charge being passed from, she was sentenced to three months imprisonment.

Gardenstown properties

HOUSES AND GROUND TO BE SOLD

AT GARDENSTOWN.

There is to be sold by Private Bargain,

THE GRANARY on the east-side of the thriving Harbour of Gardenstown, with the Cellars below, belonging to JOHN KNOX, betwixt this and the 16th of November next.  The House is eighty feet long, and fifteen and one half feet broad within walls; the Cellars are divided below the Granary by a stone wall and have large doors in each end, sufficient for receiving a Cart.  There is also a door in each end of the Granary above, with easy access; the House is in compleat repair, and the largest half of it lately built in a substantial manner.  There is room enough on the Property for building another House on the west-end.  

If not sold before the above period, the Granary will be Let.  Entry at Martinmas first.

There are also to be sold as above TWO other large FEU TENEMENTS and HOUSES in the middle of the town of Gardenstown; the one is possessed by George Laird, Vintner, and others - the House possessed by G.L. is both large and commodious, well furnished with Beds and Presses, &c. and in excellent repair, with a good Stable and a large Hay Loft above it; these Houses were new roofed a few years ago, with the best materials, and are the best in town for a Public house, or a Merchant, having a well finished Shop, with entries to it from both Streets. - Feu-duty only Fourteen Pence.

The other Feu adjoining is partly possessed by John Robertson, the Dwelling House is very commodious and substantial, and has a Yard of twenty-seven Roods belonging to the Feu of very early and superior quality of Ground. - Feu duty is 4s 9d.

Fatal accident: George Allardyce, shipmaster

On Friday the 29th ult. a party of four men went from Macduff, to have some sport in shooting sea fowls among the rocks about three miles distant, when one of them, Mr George Allardyce, shipmaster, while in the act of loading his gun on the top of a tremendous cliff, slipping his foot, fell some hundred feet to the foot of the rock.  His companions hastened to the spot to render their friend any possible assistance, but they found him speechless, and his skull fractured in a shocking manner; he was immediately placed on the back of one of the party, but life was extinct before the bearer could reach the summit of the awful precipice, which he accomplished with difficulty.  Captain Allardyce has left a widow and eight children to deplore his melancholy fate, and that premature death which he had, in the course of his maritime life, three times escaped, having as often suffered shipwreck.

Wester Findon, Gamrie

CAPITAL FARM TO BE LET

There is to be let, for such number of years as may be agreed upon, and entered to at Whitsunday next,

THE Farm of WESTER FINDON, in the parish of Gamrie, and county of Banff, as lately occupied by the deceased James Dockar, on a liferent lease.

On the Farm there is an excellent Dwelling House, Threshing Mill, and suitable offices.  It contains upwards of 100 acres, all in excellent heart, and of very superior quality.  The situation, being in the immediate vicinity of the thriving town of Gardenston, is highly adapted for carrying on every improvement, at a moderate expence.

The Farm having been under a liferent lease, a tenant will enter under very advantageous circumstances; and to such as are well recommended, every encouragement will be given.

The boundaries of the Farm will be pointed out by James Leggat, near Gardenston, or John Pirie, ground-officer; and every information will be afforded on application to Mr Burnett, Advocate, Aberdeen.

CAPITAL GRASS PARKS.

There are to be Let for Pasture, and entered to at Martinmas

next,

THOSE TWO INCLOSURES on MAINS of TROUP called PIRGAIR's PARK and the LAWN PARK, as at present occupied by Mr George Williamson, of St John's Well. - These inclosures are extensive, have been a great number of years in grass, are well watered and sheltered, and afford both winter and summer pasture of a very superior quality.

With a view of accommodating extensive dealers, they will be let by public roup, at Troup House, on Friday the 25th day of November next, when the tacksman's entry will commence.

Crovie farm lease

VALUABLE FARM IN BANFFSHIRE.

To Let, for such a number of years as may be agreed on,

THE Farm of CROVIE, in the parish of Gamrie, containing about 146 acres; the soil is excellent and early.  It is only about a mile from the sea-port of Gardenstown, and eight from Banff.  There is an excellent Steading of Houses on the Farm; and the Dwellling House would accommodate a genteel family; to be given over on a dead inventory.  It possesses many local advantages, having plenty of sea ware, moss, manure, shell sand, and fisher's dung, within a rig-length of the Farm. - The Farm, and roads upon it, have been greatly improved of late, and is in excellent order, seldom to be met with to an entering tenant.

The incoming tenant may, if he chuses, get the hole Crop and Stocking, as also the Household Furniture, at a fair valuation, and the price to remain in his hands for some years.

James George, the present tenant, will shew the Farm; and offers may be made to him, or Thomas Burnett, Esq. Advocate, Aberdeen, factor on the Estate; and entry may be had at Martinmas or Whitsunday next.

The whole of the Marches of the above Farms will be made regular and convenient, and will be pointed out by the ground Officers of the different estates.  Two or more Lots will be joined together according to the wishes of Candidates at the time of Letting, and every reasonable encouragement will be given for Houses, and for enclosing where the extent of ground requires it.

In every district a considerable extent of ground will be laid off in small Lots for the accommodation of Crofters and Mechanics, who will meet with proper encouragement.

Gardenstown public roup

HOUSES IN GARDENSTOWN FOR SALE.

On Saturday the 19th June current, at 12 o'clock noon, within the Town-hall of Gardenstown, there will be sold by public roup,

THESE Four large DWELLING HOUSES, with the OFFICES and large GARDEN in Gardenstown, sometime belonging to Mr Chalmers, now to John Bruce at Nethermill of Auchmedden.  The Houses are in good repair, and will be sold either in one or more lots as offerers incline.  Part of the price may remain in the hands of the purchaser, on security.
