NOTICE TO CREDITORS.

ALL those having CLAIMS against the late WILLIAM KELMAN, Farmer and Cattle Dealer, sometime in Auchnahandock, thereafter in Laggan of Auchindown, are desired to attend a Meeting of his Creditors, to be held within the House of PETER McCONACHIE, vintner at Hardhaugh, in the parish of Mortlach, on Tuesday the 29th day of December current; when the state of the deceased's affairs will be taken into consideration and measures adopted for the general behoof.

Banffshire Ploughing Competition

Ploughing Match, Upper District of Banffshire. - The Ploughing Competition for the Premiums allowed by the Highland Society of Scotland to the best Ploughmen in the parishes of Kirkmichael, Inveraven, Mortlach, Boharm, Aberlour, Knockando, and those parts of the parish of Rothes lying above the village of Rothes, took place on Friday the 18th day of November current, on a Field of Mr J. Grant of Arndilly's Farm of Wester Gauldwell, in the parish of Boharm, in presence of George McPherson Grant of Ballindalloch, Convener, and a Committee of the Society: 25 Ploughs started, 21 of which were drawn by two horses, and 4 by two oxen each.  The whole work was performed in a masterly manner, and with great regularity and dispatch; and the judges were considerably difficulted in selecting the best performances - but after mature deliberation, they awarded the Premiums as follows:-

1st, Three Guineas and a Silver Medal, to Alex. Gauld, servant to Captain John Watt, in Nethercluny, Mortlach.

2d, Two Guineas, and a Silver Medal, to Alex. Grant, servant to James Hay, in Tininver, Mortlach parish.

3d, Two Guineas, to George Duncan, servant to Mr McDowal Grant of Arndilly, Boharm parish - whose Plough was drawn by a pair of oxen.

4th, One Guinea and a Half, to John Russel, servant to Patrick Stewart, Esq. of Auchluncart, Boharm parish.

5th, One Guinea, to James Morison, servant to Mr Wm. Anderson, in Drumbain, Rothes parish.

6th, Half-a-Guinea, to James Horn, servant to Wm. Marshall, Esq. Keithmore, Mortlach parish.

A competition of this kind being new in the district, a great many practical farmers, and a vast concourse of spectators, attended from all quarters of the country, who were all highly delighted with the performance, and who made a liberal contribution, which was distributed among the unsuccessful candidates.

The convener and members of the committee, the judges, and a number of respectable farmers, afterwards dined together, at the Inn of Elchies, New Village of Charlestown of Aberlour; when Resolutions were entered into for establishing an Agricultural Society, under such regulations as cannot fail of being highly beneficial to this district of country.

The whole of the Marches of the above Farms will be made regular and convenient, and will be pointed out by the ground Officers of the different estates.  Two or more Lots will be joined together according to the wishes of Candidates at the time of Letting, and every reasonable encouragement will be given for Houses, and for enclosing where the extent of ground requires it.

In every district a considerable extent of ground will be laid off in small Lots for the accommodation of Crofters and Mechanics, who will meet with proper encouragement.

NOTICE TO CREDITORS.

ALL those having claims against the deceased PETER BREMNER, late in Aulbeg of Glenrinnes, are desired to lodge the same with William Stewart, Nethercluny, with oath of verity, within one month from this date; otherwise they will be cut out of the dividend.  Also, all those that stood anywise indebted to the said Peter Bremner, at the time of his death, or made purchase at the defunct's Roup, are desired to pay the same to William Stewart, on the 25th August current, at the house of William Gordon, vintner, Priest's-wall.  Those failing to comply with this intimation will be prosecuted as law directs.

Robert Grant, Blairfindy

INTIMATION.

THAT upon Friday the 20th day of November, 1812, ROBERT GRANT, Subtenant in Blairfundy, parish of Inveraven, and county of Banff, ABSCONDED from Justice, as several Warrants were issued against him to apprehend him upon a Charge of FORGERY.

Description: - He is about five feet eleven inches high, black complexion, red whiskers; when he left the country, he had on a dark blue jacket, white pantaloons, and wore an ordinary coarse hat.

Any person or persons who shall apprehend the said Robert Grant, and lodge him in any of His Majesty's Jails, and will send the receipt of the jailor of the jail he is in custody in, to Arthur Reid, writer in Tarland, by Aberdeen, or Charles Gordon, in St. Bridget, by Mortlach, Banffshire, will receive TEN POUNDS Sterling as a Reward; with all expences incurred upon apprehending him.

NOTICE,

TO the CREDITORS of the deceased ALEXANDER PROCTOR, late Cattle Dealer in Shinwell of Cabrach.
