MALCOLM, consisting of 7 Milch Cows; upwards of 20 Young Cattle of different ages; and four Work Horses; with the Carts, Ploughs, Harrows, and the whole Farming Utensils, as well as the Household Furniture.  Credit will be given on security; and intending purchasers will please to take notice, that the Sale will commence exactly at 11 o'clock.

Wester Tewel, Fetteresso

Farm Leases in Maryculter and Fetteresso

FARMS AND CROFTS TO LET.

The following POSSESSIONS, belonging to WILLIAM GORDON, Esq. of Fyvie, in the parishes of Maryculter and Fetteresso, are to be let for 19 years, entry immediately, viz.

THE Farm of EASTSIDE, lately possessed by David and George Esson.

That Part of the Farm of WESTSIDE, as lately occupied by Alex. Middleton.

The Croft of GREENS of CRYNOCH, as lately occupied by John McDonald.

AND,

The Two Crofts on ROTHNICK, parish of Fetteresso, as lately occupied by Andrew Leiper.

These Lands are susceptible of much improvement - the soil is in general good; and to industrious tenants the Proprietor will afford suitable encouragement.

Should tenants prefer it, the Farm of Westside will be divided into smaller Possessions.

These lands will be let at the House of Maryculter, on Monday the 3d of February next, at 11 o'clock; and in the mean time, application may be made, for further particulars, to Chas. Chalmers, Advocate in Aberdeen; and Charles Raitt, Overseer at Maryculter, will point out the boundaries.

SALE OF BLACK CATTLE AND HORSES,

That on Tuesday the 19th of November curt. there will be sold by public roup, at Easterside, near Stonehaven, belonging to JAMES BARRIE,

TWENTY MILCH COWS, some of them near calving, and a number of them fit for the butcher; Forty STOTS and QUEYS, from two to five years old, all in high condition, and of the very best breeds; Ten WORK HORSES, of a large size and warranted sound; a very fine Breeding MARE, with a Foal at her foot.

As the stock is large, the roup will begin precisely at 10 o'clock forenoon; and six months credit will be given.

THE whole STOCKING belonging to the Trust Estate of Robert Barclay, Farmer at Afforthies; consisting of 5 one year old STOTS and QUEYS, 6 two year old STOTS, 7 MILCH COWS of a superior breed, a BULL, 4 CALVES, and 3 WORK HORSES, well adapted for Brewers or Carters; Carts, Ploughs, Harrows, Harness, and a variety of other articles; together with about 760 Stones of HAY.

The roup will begin at 10 o'clock forenoon, and Credit will be given on Security.

Croup casualties in Fetteresso

The following distressing case of uncommon mortality has occurred within ten days in the family of James Cruickshanks, at Lochfaulds, parish of Feteresso.  Six of his children, out of seven, have all died of the croup within that short period.  The three last were buried on Sunday, and the unhappy father and his remaining child are now dangerously ill.

The advantages of this property are numerous, and have been described in former advertisements; and the upset price is now reduced to Seven Hundred Pounds.

Alexander Mathison, victim of robbery

KINCARDINESHIRE.

ROBBERY.

AND REWARD OFFERED.

WHEREAS on the evening of Wednesday last, betwixt the hours of 7 and 8 o'clock, ALEXANDER MATHISON, servant to LieutCol. R.W. Duff of Fetteresso, was attacked on the high road betwixt the Dykes of Hyndwalls, as he was returning home from Stonehaven, knocked down to the ground, and robbed, by two men who jumped over the dyke, from a belt of planting adjacent, of his Pocket Book, containing Two Bank Notes and Nineteen Shillings sterling in Silver:

is hereby offered, by the county of Kincardine, and

TEN POUNDS Sterl.

by the said Lieut. Colonel Robert William Duff of Fetteresso, to any person or persons who will discover the persons who committed the said ROBBERY, to be paid on conviction of any one or more of them, by John Low writer in Stonehaven, Procurator Fiscal, of the County of Kincardine. 

One of the persons, who committed the robbery, held the said Alexander Mathison forcibly down upon the ground and keeped his hand on his mouth, to prevent him calling out for assistance, while the other rifled his pockets, and robbed him of his Pocket Book and Money before mentioned.  The Pocket Book has the initial letters of the said Alexander Mathison's name marked in the inside of it, in gilt letters. 

On of these men appeared to be nearly six feet high, had on a Great Duffle Coat, apparently of a brownish colour; and it is thought, that he bears the cut or mark of a stroke, on the face or head, occasioned by a stroke which the said Alexander Mathison gave him, with the stick he had in his hand, before he was knocked down himself by the other man from behind him.

The said robber appeared to be well limbed, thick made, pitted in the face with the small pox, with very large whiskers, and appeared to be betwixt 35 and 40 years of age.  He wore a dark blue short Coat, with clear metal buttons, green velvet Breeches, and black Spatts; the person who was robbed thinks he would know this man last described, if he saw him again.

It is earnestly requested, that all Magistrates and Officers of the Law may secure any suspicious persons of this description, who may appear in their bounds and cannot give a sufficient account of themselves, and send notice thereof to the Procurator Fiscal of the County of Kincardine, who will immediately send forward the person robbed, in order to see if he can identify him.

In case any of the accomplices shall come forward, and discover the others concerned in said Robbery, application will be made for his Majesty's Royal clemency to him, and he will be entitled to the foresaid Reward, upon conviction of the others concerned therein.

Fetteresso Farms to Let

KINCARDINESHIRE.

There are to be Let, for Nineteen Years from Whitsunday next,

The following FARMS, on the Estate of FETTERESSO, viz:

ELFHILL, possessed at present by CHAS. MALCOLM, containing 142 acres, Scotch measure, of arable land, besides pasture, pleasantly situated on the banks of the water of Carron, about 4 miles from the Port and Market of Stonehaven; with which it communicates by an excellent road, as good as turnpike, running thro' the farm.  It has a commodious Dwelling House, and some substantial Offices; and the Proprietor will give encouragement for necessary additions, as well as for improving the land, which is of good quality, and a great part of it already improved. - ALSO,

UPPER BAULK, at present occupied by JOHN DONALDSON, situated by the same road, about 3 miles from Stonehaven, containing about 76 acres of arable land, besides pasture.  This farm is advantageously exposed, and capable of great improvement: for which its adjacency to Stonehaven affords every facility; and the proprietor will give adequate encouragement.

The Overseer at Fetteresso will shew both farms; and for particulars, enquire at Mr John Innes, surveyor, Aberdeen, or Peter Christian, writer, Stonehaven.

At Kirk of Fetteresso, 7th July 1811 After prayer sederunt Mr George Thomson Moderator, Robert Duncan, John Davidson & James Masson Elders - Compeared Ann Napier & John Petrie unmarried Persons; and the said Ann having confessed that she was with child, after suitable exhortations & paying their Penalty of thirty shillings, they were dismissed from discipline.

Fetteresso Kirk Session Register, 1811

At Kirk of Fetteresso 10th Feby 1811 After Prayer Sedt. Mr Geo. Thomson Moderator Robert Duncan & John Davidson Elders - Compeared Ann Wyllie, an unmarried woman, who, being interrogated, confessed that she was with child.  Being asked who was the father of her child, declared it was Alexr. Hanes, an unmarried man, presently servant at Barras.  Compeared Margaret Fyfe, an unmarried woman, & confessed that she had brought forth a child.  Being asked who was the father of her child, declared it was James Mitchel, an unmarried man in Links of Arduthie.  They were both suitable exhorted by the Moderator and summoned apud acta to attend the Session this day three weeks & the officer was ordered to summon Mitchel.  The Moderator promised to write Mr Walker to cause Hanes be summoned to attend at the same time.  George McDonald mentioned in a former Minutes, when summoned had declared he would not attend.
