In memory of William Littlejohn, Portsoy

On this day we reflect on the sacrifice of William Littlejohn, Gunner 2014 in the Royal Garrison Artillery (34^th), who died of his injuries on 18^th March 1915 at the Royal Military Hospital, Isle of Wight.  He left behind a widowed wife, Jane Morrison, Chapel Street, Portsoy.  His grave can be found in Portsoy’s old burial ground.

There will be sold by public roup, within the house of George Ronald, vintner, in Aberdeen, upon Friday the 11th day of February 1814, betwixt the hours of 6 and 7 o'clock afternoon,

THE WHOLE HERITABLE PROPERTY in Aberdeen belonong to said Estate; - consisting of ONE WHOLE and TWO HALF HOUSES fronting Chapel-street; several PIECES of GROUND fronting said street, both sides of Chapel-lane, an intended street leading northward from said lane, Summer-street and Skene-street.

The advantages of this property are numerous, and have been described in former advertisements; and the upset price is now reduced to Seven Hundred Pounds.

At the same time will be SOLD,

RIGHT to ONE-FOURTH of the Ground, Houses, and Waterfall, on the WATER of COWIE, and Lease thereon, Partnership Concern, and Machinery erected in said Houses.

William Selbie (bankrupt): sale of property

SALE OF PROPERTY,

By way of Feu or otherwise.

There will be sold by public roup, within the house of George Ronald, vintner in Aberdeen, on Friday the 26th day of November, 1813, between the hours of six and seven o'clock afternoon,

THE whole PROPERTY belonging to the Sequestrated Estate of WILLIAM SELBIE, Merchant and Manufacturer in Aberdeen, consisting of one Whole and two Half HOUSES fronting Chapel-street; several Pieces of GROUND, fronting Chapel-street, Chapel-lane, a street leading northward from said lane, Summer-street, and Skene-street.

There are Gardens at the back of each of the Houses.  The different pieces of Ground are judiciously laid out for feuing, and the feuers will be well supplied with water from wells in the neighbourhood.

The whole will be sold together or in lots, as purchasers may incline; and any part of the Ground will be feued separately.  

The right of feu duties payable for ground adjoining, will also be sold.

And the right to one-fourth of the Ground  and Houses sometime occupied by Walker, Knox, & Co. Machinery, Waterfall on the Water of Cowie, Lease thereon; and Partnership Concern of Walker, Knox, & Co. will at sametime be exposed.  All in manner mentioned in the artciles of roup, which are in the hands of Alexander Smith, Advocate, Correction-wynd, Aberdeen.

Hugh Imlay, Shoemaker, Aberdeen

NOTICE TO DEBTORS AND CREDITORS

AND HOUSE FOR SALE.

THOSE having claims against HUGH IMLAY, Shoemaker in Aberdeen, are required to lodge the same, and affidavits thereon, with James Matthews or John Ramage, leather-merchants in Aberdeen, trustees for his creditors, on or before the 20th of February next. - And such as are indebted to the said Hugh Imlay, are required to pay the amount of what they are due him, within the same period, to the said James Matthews, who is authorised to discharge the same.

That HOUSE in CHAPEL-STREET, presently possessed by the said Hugh Imlay, and others, will be exposed to sale, by public roup, within the Lemon Tree Tavern, on Friday the 31st of January curt. at 6 o'clock in the evening.  The house is new and substantially built, consisting of two floors, besides coomceiled rooms.
