FORRES.

To be sold by public roup, on the Premises, upon Wednesday

the 26th day of November next, betwixt the hours of seven and

eight o'clock afternoon, at a Reduced Upset-price.

THAT large and commodious TENEMENT of BURGH-BIGGED LAND, in the Burgh of Forres, as formerly advertised, which belonged to, and was for many years occupied as a tavern by the deceased John Mitchel, Vintner in Forres. - This Property contains the most ample favourable accommodation in all respects for carrying on the tavern business on a respectable footing, in which at present there is every chance of success; or, at a small expence, it might be made suitable for the residence of a genteel family.

The title deeds will be seen, and other particulars communicated, on applying to Charles Black, Town Clerk of Forres.

Circuit court case of John Petrie

Inverness, Oct. 3.

The Circuit Court of Justiciary was opened here on Monday last, by Lord Reston; and in the course of the day the following criminal cases came before him.

John Petrie, accused of stealing, on the night of the 10th April, 1815, from a barn, in possession of James Younie, farmer at Calfirhill, parish of Rafford, two sacks, containing a boll of barley; and of stealing, on the following night, from a kiln in the occupation of David Duncan, farmer at Bomanhill, parish of Forres, six pecks of barley, and a bed-cover, and from a barn, three bags containing two to three bolls of oats, after having forcibly broke into it.  On being called upon to plead, the pannel stated, that though he was quite innocent, he was forced, from circumstances, to plead guilty.  The Court, however, explained to him that his answer could not be received, and on being again asked, he pleaded guilty.  A verdict was accordingly returned, finding him guilty in terms of his own confession, and the Advocate Depute restricted the libel to an arbitrary punishment.  After an admonition as to his future conduct, he was sentenced to transportation beyond seas for fourteen years.

John Gordon, baker in Forres

NOTICE.

To the DEBTORS of the late JOHN GORDON, Baker in Forres,

And INTENDED SALE of his ESTATES in MORAY and BANFFSHIRE.

CHARLES GORDON, second Son, and universal Disponee and Executor, nominated by the said JOHN GORDON, earnestly requests, in compliance with the desire of the Creditors, that all those INDEBTED to the deceased, will make immediate payment to him, to prevent unnecessary expense.  Mr. GORDON also begs to intimate, that how soon his Titles are completed to his Father's Estates, and other Property, the whole, or greater part thereof, will be Sold in LOTS, to be afterwards described; meantime, intending purchasers may please apply to him, at Forres, or to THOMAS SELLAR, Esq. of Westfield, writer in Elgin, for further information.

Alexander Moir, Forres merchant

TO THE CREDITORS OF ALEXANDER MOIR, LATE MERCHANT IN FORRES.

SOME of ALEXANDER MOIR's Creditors having executed a poinding of his whole effects, an action of repetition was brought into the Sheriff Court of Elgin, in which the Sheriff Substitute, on the 7th February, 1812, pronounced an interlocutor appointing all the creditors of the said Alexander Moir, to produce their grounds of debt in that action, within a month, certifying to those who fail to do so, that a scheme of division will be prepared, and the funds divided among those who shall have produced interests.

NOTICE TO CREDITORS

ALEXANDER MORTAN, Merchant in Forres, having some time ago executed a trust disposition of his estate, in favour of John Forsyth, writer, Forres, for behoof of his Creditors, all those who have claims against him, are desired to lodge the same, and oaths of verity thereon, with the said John Forsyth on or before the 18th day of December next, otherwise they will receive no share of the funds, which will soon after be divided, in terms of the trust deed.

NOTICE

TO THE CREDITORS OF ALEXANDER MOIR, LATE MERCHANT IN FORRES

AT a Meeting of the Creditors of the said ALEXANDER MOIR, held on the 20th curt. in consquence of former advertisements, THOMAS EDDIE, Esq. merchant in Forres, was chosen Trustee on the Bankrupt Estate: And NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of the Resolutions of that Meeting, that a second Meeting of the Creditors is to be held on Thursday the 24th of January next, at 12 o'clock noon, within the writing chambers of Mr JOHN FORSYTH, writer in Forres, to instruct the Trustee how to proceed in the management and disposal of the Bankrupt's Estate; when it particularly requested that such persons as having claims against the said Alexander Moir, will either attend personally, or appoint some person to act for them.
