NOTICE TO CREDITORS.

ALL those having CLAIMS against the late WILLIAM KELMAN, Farmer and Cattle Dealer, sometime in Auchnahandock, thereafter in Laggan of Auchindown, are desired to attend a Meeting of his Creditors, to be held within the House of PETER McCONACHIE, vintner at Hardhaugh, in the parish of Mortlach, on Tuesday the 29th day of December current; when the state of the deceased's affairs will be taken into consideration and measures adopted for the general behoof.

Forged notes: four men in custody

It would appear from the investigation which has taken place here, respecting the uttering of forged Bank of England Notes, that several persons have been concerned, and that the plan had succeeded to a considerable extent.  It seems, however, to be now completely checked in this quarter.  At present the following persons are in custody, on suspicion of being implicated, viz. Thomas Watson, weaver, William Campbell, cattle-dealer, Andrew Sangster, vintner, and James Henderson, egg-merchant; such of them as may be ultimately committed for trial, it is supposed, will be immediately removed to Edinburgh, to stand trial before the High Court of Justiciary.

Notice to Creditors of John Wight

NOTICE TO CREDITORS.

THOSE who had claims against JOHN WIGHT, Cattle Dealer, sometime at Oldmeldrum, now in Huntly, in March 1812, when he obtained a Decreet of Cessio Bonorum, are desired to lodge the same with Alexander Webster, Advocate in Aberdeen, against the 15th September next, when the free proceeds of certain effects, which belonged to the said John Wight, at the period above-mentioned, will be divided among those Creditors who shall lodge claims, properly vouched, agreeable to this intimation.

Imprisonment of convicted swindler

Friday last, Donald Mackay, a notorious swindler and impostor, who, on false pretences, particularly giving himself out as a Drover and Cattle Dealer, had obtained money from several Gentlemen and others in this place, stood an hour on the pillory, with a label on his breast denoting his crime; and was afterwards drummed through the streets to Bridewell, where he is to be confined 12 calendar months, and in the course of that period is to receive 50 lashes on his back, by the common Executioner.

Roup of cattle at Scarfbanks, Elgin

ROUP OF CATTLE,

AT SCARFBANKS, NEAR ELGIN.

There are to be sold by public roup, at the farm of SCARFBANKS, on Tuesday the 3d day of December next,

SIXTEEN MILCH COWS; a famous BULL; Thirteen STOTS of two years old, Four STOTS of one year old, Two QUEYS of two years old, Eight QUEYS of one year old; and Sixteen CALVES; all brought up on that farm by the late Mr JOHN BRANDER, who took a peculiar pleasure in having the best breeds of animals of the above description, and keeping them in the highest order and condition.

The roup to begin at 12 o'clock.  Credit will be given.

**The Relations of the deceased Mr JOHN BRANDER being desirous to ascertain the claims against his estate, request that all persons to whom he is indebted will lodge notes of such claims and oaths of verity thereon, with Robert Grigor, writer in Elgin.

Alexander Proctor, Cabrach

NOTICE

TO the Creditors of the deceased ALEXANDER PROCTOR, Cattle Dealer in Shenwall of Cabrach.

A meeting of the deceased's Creditors is to be held within the house of Mr McConachie, vintner in Hardhaugh, on Monday the 8th July next, at 12 noon, when it is requested all concerned will attend, in order to concert the necessary measures for liquidating his debts, and recovering those outstanding on his estate.

ROBERT WALLACE: THEFT

THEFT.

UPON the Night between the 14th and 15th current, ROBERT WALLACE, a middle aged man, a native of Rosehearty, calling himself a Cattle Dealer, went away from the house of JAMES KIRTON, at Ellon, and carried off from a Gentleman in his house a Parcel of NOTES to a considerable amount.  He was dressed in a mixed short coat, striped vest, corduroy breeches, and light coloured stockings; was a man of fair complexion, and had the mark of a scar on his left cheek.

A REWARD of FIVE GUINEAS is hereby offered by James Kirton, (over and above what the gentleman himself will give to whom the Notes belonged) to any person who will apprehend him.
