FARMS

Adjoining the Village of LAWRENCEKIRK.

To be let for such number of years as can be agreed on, with

entry at Martinmas next,

THE Farms of LOWER MAINS of JOHNSTON, consisting of nearly 70 acres, and BLACKIEMUIR, consisting of about 52 acres; all at present possessed by Mr James Wallace.

Both the above farms are in high order; and an unusually large proportion of them is either in One year old Grass, or laid down with the present Crop.  The land of Lower Mains is well known to be of the best quality in the Mearns; producing heavy crops of What, and other Grain.  The Blackiemuir farm has very lately had a great deal of lime laid on it; and has been cultivated in the best manner.  A more desirable entry in every respect could not occur than the present condition of these Farms affords.

They are to be let, either together or separately.  Each farm has an excellent Dwelling House on it, and good Offices.  The land will be shewn by Baillie Scott of Lawrencekirk; and any person wishing further information, or to bargain, may apply to Mr FARQUHAR of Johnston, the proprietor; or to R. Morrice, Advocate, Aberdeen.

Mains of Kinneff

CAPITAL FARM IN MEARNS-SHIRE TO LET.

To be Let, for 19, or such number of years as may be agreed on 

(not exceeding 21.) and entered to at Martinmas 1816,

THE Farm of MAINS of KINNEFF, consisting of 276 Scots Acres, or thereby, presently possessed by Mr James Hector, who is bound by stipulations favourable to an entering tenant.  The Farm is situated on the sea coast, 7 miles from Stonehaven, and 3 from Bervie.  The turnpike road between these towns forms its northern boundary; and there is a commutation road, equally good, passing through the centre of the Farm.  There is a natural harbour on the Ground, where Lime can be imported, and Grain exported, and where Sea Ware can be procured for Manure.  The quality of the land is allowed to be equal to any in the county.  The Farm is enclosed and subdivided with stone dykes; and water is to be had in all the fields.

Mr ROBERTSON, in his Agricultural Survey of the County, says of this Farm, "I have not met, in all Kincardineshire, with so strong a resemblance to an East Lothian Property, either with regard to Soil, Cultivation, or even Climate, as here."

The Court of Offices is large, containing a good Threshing Mill, Grain Lofts, and every accommodation requisite for a large Farm.  The Dwelling House contains two Public Rooms, and Lodging Rooms, sufficient for the accommodation of a large family.

Sealed offers to be lodged with Mr John Brand, Writer, Stonehaven, or Mr Anthony Davidson, Writer, Montrose, betwixt and Whitsunday next.

Farms in the Mearns to be let

FARMS IN THE MEARNS.

To be let for 19 years from Martinmas first,

THE FOLLOWING ARMS, viz. -

1.  MAINS of HATTON, as possessed by Mr John Ferrier.  It contains, besides a considerable quantity of pasture, about 200 acres of arable land, capable of bearing crops of all kinds; and is in the neighbourhood of lime, and good markets, being about six miles from Brechin, and five miles from Montrose, with which the communication will be rendered still better by the Bridge about to built ovr the River Northesk at Marykirk.

2. The Lands of KIRKTOWN of FOURDOUN, together with the INN, as presently possessed by William taylour.  They consist of about 80 acres of arable land, well adapted both to the wheat and turnip husbandry, and 40 acres in pasture.

Every reasonable encouragement will be given for the improvement of both these farms, the entry to which will, in every respect, be favourable.  They will be shown by the Baron Officer at Hatton and at Fourdoun.

Offers in writing will be received, till the middle of September next, at Arbuthnott House, near Bervie, and by Messrs. Dundas & Irving, W.S. Edinburgh.

FARM IN THE MEARNS

To be Let for 19 years, and entered to at Martinmas next,

THE LANDS of KIRKTOWN of FORDOUN, together with the INN, as presently occupied by William Taylour.  They consist of about 80 acres of arable land, well adapted both to the wheat and turnip husbandry, and 40 acres in pasture; and are well situated as to roads, market towns, &c.

Offers in writing for the above Farm will be received, till the first of September next, by the Proprietor at Arbuthnot House, near Bervie, and by Messrs. Dundas and Irving, W.S. Edinburgh.
