Ordiquhill Kirk Session Minutes, 10th May, 1812

May 10th.  The Mod[erato]r reported that James George and Mary Murchie had attended the Presb[yter]y Wednesday past and seriously exhorted to ingenuity in their Confession, but had persisted, he in refusing all guilt with the woman, and she in accusing James George of being the Father of her Child.  They were referred back to this Session, to do in the Matter what they should  see cause and most for Edification; and they were desired to attend the Session of Ordiquhill when called.

Ordiquhill Kirk Session Minutes, 11th April, 1812

Session met &c.  Compeared James George Accused of being the Father of Mary Murchie's Child and being seriously exhorted to ingenuity, refused either being the Father of her Child, or of ever being guilty with her..  The Session taking this under Consideration, thought proper to Summon James George apud acta to attend the next meeting of Presbytery the First Wednesday of May next, and appointed their Officer to Summon Mary Murchie to said meeting.

Ordiquhill Kirk Session Minutes, 29th March, 1812

March 29.  Session met &c.  Compeared Jas. George and being interrogated whether he was the father of Mary Murchie's Child, Answered that he was not, and that he had never been guilty with her.  As Mary Murchie was not present to be confronted with him, he agreed to attend the Session upon Saturday Ap, 11th at School house when and where they adjourned to meet.  The Officer was appointed to Summon Mary Murchie to that meeting.

Ordiquhill Kirk Session Minutes, 8th March, 1812

Session met &c.  Compeared Mary Murchie in Ridinghill and acknowledged that she was with Child And gave James George a married man Chaise driver to Sir George Abercromby as the Father of her Child.  She was suitably exhorted and desired to attend the Session,when an Answer was received from the Min[iste]r. of Forglen, to whom the Mod[erato]r. agreed to write And cause their Officer Summon Jas. George to attend this Session Sunday March 29th.
