Roup at Balmacassie

SALE OF CATTLE, HORSES, AND HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE;

And NOTICE to DEBTORS and CREDITORS.

THERE will be Sold by public roup, on Monday the 9th of May next, at Balmacassie, parish of Ellon:  The whole effects which belonged to the late JAMES FORBES, there, consisting of Six 1 and 2 year old Stots; Four Milk Cows, some with Calf, One Quey, Two Work Horses, Stack of Hay, Carts, Ploughs, Harrows, and all sorts of Farming Utensils. - Eight-day Clock, Beds, Bedding, Meal Chests, and other articles of Household Furniture. - The roup will begin at 10 o'clock forenoon. - Ample credit on security.

Those having Claims on the said JAMES FORBES, are required to lodge the same with MARGARET FORBES, in Balmacassie: and those Indebted to him at his death, will please order payment to her against the above day, to prevent expences.

  1. What year is this? I have a Massie family at Balmacassie, from around this period. Maybe they bought it from Mrs Forbes.
