Ordiquhill Kirk Session Minutes, 2nd February, 1812

Session met &c.  Compeared […] Jean Cowie and confessed that she was with Child in fornication And gave James Moir Servant in Drachaldie, Parish of Fordyce, as the Father.  At same time compeared said Jas. Moir and acknowledged that he was the father of Jean Cowie's Child.  They petitioned that they might be Sessionally absolved from the Scandal.  As they had given no trouble, the Session agreed to their request upon paying a penalty of twenty five Sh. Stg. for the behoof of the poor which was as much as they know they could spare, as they were both poor.  This they immediately complied with and were accordingly Sessionally rebuked and absolved.
