St Cyrus salmon fishings

SALMON FISHINGS TO LET.

To be let by public roup, within the house of Mr. Hunter, vintner, Montrose, upon Friday the 11th of October next, betwixt the hours of 3 and 4 afternoon,

A TACK, for Five Years from Candlemas next, of the SALMON FISHINGS of ROCKHALL, belonging to Mr Scott of Criggie, lying in the parish of St. Cyrus, and county of Kincardine.

These fishings begin near the mouth of the river North-esk, and extend upwards of a mile along the shore, which is good ground for net and coble.  There are also several eligible situations for State nets, which would be most productive, and encouragement will be given in erecting them.

For further particulars, enquiry may be made at Charles Thomson, town-clerk of Montrose; and David Christie, salmon-fisher at St. Cyrus, will shew the grounds, fishing-house, &c.
