Sir Archibald Grant's Monymusk Lodge of Gardeners

On Tuesday the 3d of August curt. was held at Monymusk, the Annual General Meeting of Sir Archibald Grant's Monymusk Lodge of Gardeners, when, after examining the state of their funds, and transacting the usual business of the Society, the proceeded to the election of Office-bearers and Managers for the ensuing year; when the followng were duly elected, viz:-

DAVID THOM, Depute-master.

Peter Moir, treasurer; Alexander Reid, and Wm. Addie, stewards; Robert Laing, secretary; Charles Forbes, Alexander King, George Boddie, Wm. Baird, Samuel Kesson, and Alexander Forbes, managers; Wm. Adam, clerk; William Angus, officer.  After the election, they walked in procession, and spent the evening in their usual social and regular manner.

FARM OF ACHREVIE TO LET

THE FARM of ACHREVIE, lately possessed by Alexander Singer, on which there is a substantial, new, slated House with a Kitchen and accommodation for servants adjoining.  Entry immediately, or at Whitsunday first.  The farm consists of 60 acres of arable Ground, some low land for pasture, and a considerable quantity of improveable muir.

Monymusk Kirk Session Minutes, 1811

Church of Monymusk 10th March 1811.  Session met & Constitute Compeared Isobel Alexander an unmarried woman & acknowledged herself to be with child to Matthew King presently residing in Aberdeen.  Compeared also the said King who confessed the guilt charged against him & requested the Session to dismiss him from Church Discipline on account of his being at such a distance & the said King expressing deep regret & sorrow for this past misconduct & promising to act a more Christian part in all time coming, the Session agreed to his request & both of them being suitably exhorted were absolved having paid a Penalty of Ten Shillings for behoof of the Poor.  Closed with prayer.

Charles King, merchant in Peterhead - Creditors meet in the Laigh Tolbooth, Aberden, March 18, at 12 ; and in the office of Alexander Webster, advocate, Aberdeen, March 19, at 12.  Claims to be lodged before November 8.

Alexander Singer, wood-merchant, Monymusk - Creditors meet in the New Inn, Aberdeen, March 6.

The now deceased James Fraser, maltman and grain-dealer in Montrose - Creditors meet in the house of Patrick Mason, merchant in Montrose, March 8, at 12.

Allan Anderson, merchant in Montrose - Creditors meet in Andrew Hunter's, vintner there, 9th and 23rd March, 11 o'clock, forenoon.

Gilbert Shepherd, manufacturer, Aberdeen - Creditors to meet in the Lemon Tree Tavern there, 9th and 25th March, at 12 noon.
