Sir Archibald Grant's Monymusk Lodge of Gardeners

On Tuesday the 3d of August curt. was held at Monymusk, the Annual General Meeting of Sir Archibald Grant's Monymusk Lodge of Gardeners, when, after examining the state of their funds, and transacting the usual business of the Society, the proceeded to the election of Office-bearers and Managers for the ensuing year; when the followng were duly elected, viz:-

DAVID THOM, Depute-master.

Peter Moir, treasurer; Alexander Reid, and Wm. Addie, stewards; Robert Laing, secretary; Charles Forbes, Alexander King, George Boddie, Wm. Baird, Samuel Kesson, and Alexander Forbes, managers; Wm. Adam, clerk; William Angus, officer.  After the election, they walked in procession, and spent the evening in their usual social and regular manner.

Conviction of Robert Allan & Alexander Cruickshank

On the 29th ultimo, Robert Allan, seaman, and Alexander Cruickshank, ropemaker, were convicted before the Justices, of riotous and disorderly behaviour in the Oldtown market, - of a breach of the peace - of striking, beating, and abusing different people - one man to the danger of his life; and were sentenced to be confined in Bridewell for twelve calendar months.
