FARM TO LET.

Upon the Estate of WATERTOWN, belonging to the Hon. W. Gordon of Ellon,

THE Farm of BALMAKESSIE, presently possessed by James Robertson, will be let, within the house of James Murray, vintner in Ellon, on Thursday the 8th of April next, at 12 noon, for Nineteen years from Whitsunday next, either for a Grassum, or an additional yearly rent, as may be agreed on.  The above farm consists of from 50 to 60 acres, all of very superior, rich and early soil.  The turnpike road from Aberdeen to Peterhead goes close by the farm.  It is only three miles from the port of Newburgh, where there is a ready market for all sorts of Grain.

In the mean time, offers may be given in to Mr Cumming, at Ellon Castle; and John Sangster, in Ellon, will shew the boundaries of the land.

James Ross, Charlestown of Aboyne

NOTICE TO DEBTORS AND CREDITORS

ALL those who are indebted, by account or otherwise, to the estate of the deceased JAMES ROSS, merchant in Charlestown of Aboyne, are requested to settle with the Defunct's Relict, before the end of April ensuing, as legal steps must then be taken to recover any outstanding debts.  And Mrs Ross expects that those who may have claims against her husband's subjects, will lodge them with her within the time above specified.

Kinmundy fire

Upon the night of the 12th inst. an alarming fire was discovered in the stack yard of James Tod, in Petemarcus of Kinmundy. - The devouring element, before assistance could be got, had consumed two ricks of oats, one of pease, and a large stack of hay; but by the vigorous exertions of the neighbours, the rest was preserved.  Whether the fire proceeded from accident or design is not yet known.

Clatt ploughing match

CLATT PLOUGHING MATCH. - The Clatt Plowman Society, desirous to promote improvement in Ploughing, so essential to the interests of Agriculture, held their first Annual Ploughing Match on Wednesday the 3d curt, upon a field belonging to Mr Mitchell in Auchindellan, when a number of Ploughs started, and every candidate exerted his talents before a numerous crowd of spectators.  The work gave general satisfaction, and after a minute investigation by the judges, they awarded the premiums to the following persons, viz. - the first to George Reid, son to Alexr. Reid, farmer in Drangowan; the second to Alexr. Barclay, son to Alexr. Barclay, farmer in Littlenewton; the third to John Wilson, servant to Alex. Barclay, Littlenewton; the fourth to David Henderson, son to David Henderson, farmer, Newbiggin.
