St Andrews Lhanbryd Kirk Session Minutes, 16th August 1713

The 16 day of Agust 1713 Convened minister and Elders and after prayer called compeared William Allan James Barber who had been severall times summoned to this Session, but delayed to compear  untill now and being exhorted to repentance for this Sin of Sabbath breaking would not so much as acknowledge it any falt and would not give any obedience nor satisfaction to God or man saying the Cobles on Spey & Yarrs at findhorn took Sallmond with out interruption so they hade doon no offence  The Session thought fit to refer them to the presbytrie the minister was appointed to report them which he undertook to doe.

St Andrews Lhanbryd Kirk Session Minutes, 26th July 1713

At St Andrews the 26 day of Jully 1713 Sederunt Minister & Elders  This day John Barklay on of the Elders delated William Allan In Elgin Servant to Diple & James Barber in Newmiln Guilty of Sabbath breatch in fishing with Spears on the Lords day.  The officer is commanded to Summonds them here to compear after Sermon the next Sabbath day.

The 17 day of Agust 1712 This day appeared James Bennerman & and Elspit Russell and was rebuked […] she being bige with child requests her absolution the next Sabbath considering her bad health & weakness her request was granted appointed to appear the next Sabbath and on the appearance of repentance to be absolved.

Convened Minister & Elders At St Andrews after prayer The 9 day of March appeared John Wate & Majery Steell – and having payed [thei]r penaltie and professed [thei]r sorrow for [thei]r Sin was absolved.
This day also the Elders delated James Bennerman & Elspit Russell.  The officer is ordered to cite [the]m here the next Lord's day. .

At St Andrews the 2 day of March convened minister and Elders and considering John Wate delaying his appearance not with standing [thei]r order appoints their oficer to Sumonds him and Majery Steel to pay [thei]r penaltie and appear the next Sabbath and be absolved.
