Pickpockets emprisoned in Aberdeen


On Sunday last, John Burd, James Brodie, and Andrew Anderson, were committed to prison here, charged with Theft and Picking Pockets, in a market held at Oldmeldrum on Sunday last. – They are supposed to be part of gang at present infesting this country.

Strichen Kirk Session Minutes, 26th January 1812

Session met & being constituted by prayer: Compeared, upon citation, And[re]w Anderson, and acknowledged guilt with Helen Grant; he was suitable exhorted, and, the Penalty being paid, was dismissed from Church Discipline.

Strichen Kirk Session Minutes, 5th January 1812

Session being met and constituted by prayer: Compeared Helen Grant, who being confronted with John Thain, retracted her former accusation and accused Andrew Anderson an unmarried man, who was cited to attend on the 26th Jany.
