Insolvency of James Matthew, merchant

SALE OF GOODS, &c
CATTLE, CORN & FODDER;
AND MEETING OF CREDITORS.

To be Sold by Public Roup, at Torries of Tough, on Friday the 12th current, belonging to James Matthew,

MERCHANT GOODS of all kinds; a Quantity of HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE; HORSE and CATTLE; CORN and BEAR, with the FODDER; also Five Acres of WHEAT LAND, in good order; and Sundry other Articles too tedious to mention. - The roup to begin at 10 o'clock precisely; and credit will be given.

A Meeting of the Creditors of the said James Matthew is requested at his house at the same time.

Cruden Kirk Session Minutes, 1811

Apl. 21st.  Session met &c Compeared Janet Sangster who acknowledged herself wt. Child and accused James Matthew as the Father, who upon appearing made Confession, and both Parties being suitably exhorted & admonished were dismissed from Discipline.  Concluded wt. Prayer.
