Presbytery examination of Robert Adam, Banchory Devenick

A Minute of Election by the Heritors and Minister of Banchory Devenick, to the School of Banchory just now vacant, together with a Certificate of Mr Adam's Qualification to Government was laid before the Pby, & sustained.  The Pby appointed Dr Ross, Mr Allan & Mr Wilson, as a Committee to make trial of Mr Adam's Literary Qualifications, and to report.

The Commitee appointed to examine Mr Adam reported that they had examined him on Latin, English, Arithmetic, & Writing; and that they consider him as fully qualified to be Parochial Schoolmaster of Banchory.  The Pby sustained the above Report, and did, and hereby do, admit the foresaid Mr Robert Adam to the office of Parochial Schoolmaster of Banchory Devenick, and find him entitled, in terms of his Minute of Election, to the Salary from Whitsunday next, and also to the other perquisites of said Office.  The Pby allow the Clerk to give Mr Adam an Extract of this Minute, if required.
