Monymusk Kirk Session Minutes, 1811

Church of Monymusk 10th March 1811.  Session met & Constitute Compeared Isobel Alexander an unmarried woman & acknowledged herself to be with child to Matthew King presently residing in Aberdeen.  Compeared also the said King who confessed the guilt charged against him & requested the Session to dismiss him from Church Discipline on account of his being at such a distance & the said King expressing deep regret & sorrow for this past misconduct & promising to act a more Christian part in all time coming, the Session agreed to his request & both of them being suitably exhorted were absolved having paid a Penalty of Ten Shillings for behoof of the Poor.  Closed with prayer.
